John Wetton has died. The bassist and singer with King Crimson from 1972 to 1974 had been battling colon cancer for some time.
The official announcement came via his website although news of his passing had emerged earlier in the morning via social media.
Although John went on to enjoy global success with Asia, he often cited his time in King Crimson as amongst his most favourite musical encounters during his long and varied career.
